Rethinking Success

From the Liberal Arts to Careers in the 21st Century

Condoleezza Rice Event

Dear Faculty, Staff and Students,

Registration is now closed.

On Wednesday, April 11 at 5:30 p.m. in Wait Chapel, Former U.S. Secretary of State and Professor and Senior Fellow at Stanford University Dr. Condoleezza Rice will speak on the state of America and the role of higher education. You are invited to submit your name into a campus lottery for tickets to her talk.

Dr. Rice will be the keynote speaker at a national conference hosted by Wake Forest to examine issues related to the relevance and value of the liberal arts education to the world of work in the 21st Century. While Dr. Rice’s talk is targeted at registered conference participants, it is important to the conference planning committee that faculty, staff and students have access to such a compelling guest speaker.

The number of tickets is limited and will be distributed through a lottery system. You must register by March 15 to be eligible for the lottery. Individuals selected in the lottery will be notified by email no later than April 1 with information about ticket pick-up.

If your name is selected, you will have the option of receiving one (1) additional ticket to attend with a guest. The tickets are non-transferable and we ask that you return your ticket in the event you are selected in the lottery but are unable to attend. Seating will be general admission.

The University will maintain a wait list for those not selected in the lottery. Individuals on the wait list will be notified as tickets are returned to the pool.

Please note, that tickets are currently not available to the general public. The University will make tickets available to the broader community if tickets remain after satisfying student, faculty and staff needs.
